About Kimberleyland
Waterfront Holiday Park
A family-run destination where nature, comfort, and adventure meet on The lagoon

Discover the Spirit of Kimberleyland Waterfront Park
Kimberleyland Waterfront Holiday Park is a place where natural beauty, warm hospitality and authentic Kimberley character come together.
Set on the edge of Lake Kununurra, our park offers a welcoming retreat for travellers seeking comfort, connection and adventure. From sunset gatherings on the foreshore to exploring world-class landscapes, Kimberleyland is the perfect base to experience the magic of the East Kimberley.

Arriving at Kimberleyland Waterfront Holiday Park immerses you instantly in the Kimberley’s magic—sunsets, red rock landscapes, lily-filled waters, wildlife and iconic boab trees along the foreshore.
As the afternoon light softens, the rolling green lawns by the waterfront come alive. Happy campers gather with cheese platters and drinks in hand, sharing stories and toasting to new friends as the sun sinks behind the ranges. This is the Kimberleyland effect — a feeling that stays with you long after you leave.
Your hosts, Park Managers Jen and Andrew, know this lifestyle well. After beginning as Assistant Managers and working their way up, they now proudly run the park with genuine care and first-hand caravanning experience. Their goal is simple: to make every guest feel welcome, supported and part of the Kimberleyland family.
We understand the Kimberley is remote — reaching us often means years of planning and thousands of kilometres travelled. That’s why we feel truly honoured to host you and to share this extraordinary part of Australia with you. Whether you’re touring the region, heading to the Bungles, tackling the Gibb River Road or exploring Kununurra, we’re here to make your stay everything you imagined and more.

The Kimberleyland Effect?
A Pioneering Spirit

Kimberleyland was born from a genuine pioneering spirit. When my parents emigrated from Europe in 1981, Kununurra was still a tiny outback town on Australia’s last frontier.
My father, a migrant farmer, joined forces with tourism visionary Gregor McQuie to create a holiday park on the shores of Lake Kununurra – a bold idea well ahead of its time.
I was the first in my family to be born in Kununurra, and with that came a lifelong love for the Kimberley. Just as Kimberleyland was getting started, tragedy struck. My father passed away suddenly, and the dream they had imagined together was heartbreakingly cut short when I was only one year old.
To my mother’s credit, we stayed. Those early years were tough and full of hard work, but they were also shaped by Kimberley grit, community support and sheer determination. Over time our family secured full ownership of the park and began a new chapter, slowly rebuilding and reimagining the original vision for Kimberleyland.

Honouring our beginnings by carrying the Kimberleyland dream proudly forward
Today, our family runs Kimberleyland Waterfront Holiday Park with the same pioneering spirit my parents brought to Kununurra. Every improvement we make – from cabins and sites to gardens and guest experiences – is about finishing what they started and honouring the story that began here in 1981.
We’re proud to now hold a swag of tourism awards and to be recognised as the only 4.5-star holiday park north of Perth, set on one of Kununurra’s most enviable waterfront locations. When you stay with us, you’re not just booking a site or a cabin – you’re becoming part of the Kimberleyland story.
